Special Notes

A few things on this plan follow the calendar, the weather or a supplier's confirmation. Here they are, told straight.

• Bookings are not open yet — the remaining items have to be settled first. The connection leg into and out of Zhangjiajie, with its routing, its issuing party and who pays. The three in-park conveyance items above. The split of the four nights between the Wulingyuan base and the city base, and whether your order carries one hotel change. The glass bridge add-on price. And this plan's pre-listing review, which it has not yet been through. Until those items are settled we take no orders and no deposits. Tell us your dates and we will write to you on the day it opens.
• Every booking carries a connection — there is no nonstop service to Zhangjiajie from any of our seven source markets, inbound or outbound, so each end of your trip needs a connection leg. Two facts are worth knowing before you pick dates. The Singapore connection operates three times a week, on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, so taking it fixes your departure day to one of those three. And the Shanghai to Zhangjiajie leg takes close to a full day once ground time at both ends is counted, so it is planned as a travel day and not as a morning.
• This plan is not sold as a standalone entry product — it is sold to guests who are already inside China, or as the Zhangjiajie segment of a longer China trip. We say that up front rather than quoting you five days and leaving the two hardest days off the page.
• The 10-day visa-free transit policy is not a channel for this plan — this destination sits in Hunan, and our own port records state the permitted stay area for that policy two different ways in two different places. Until that is closed with the authorities we take no order under that policy, including from a guest who is already in China on it. We say so before payment and we do not work around it.
• Departure window — no departures October 1 to 7, the national holiday week, when the queues at the elevator and the cableways run to hours. The sellable departure window on this plan is October 8 to November 30, 2026. December departures are confirmed only after the scenic area's current-season operating announcement is in hand, because the winter operating hours of the lifts and cableways and their annual maintenance shutdowns are not on record with us.
• Weather and maintenance stoppages — four conditions stop the machines here: high wind, lightning, ice and annual maintenance. They stop the elevator, the cableways and the cliff walkway. This destination holds no second site of the same type to move an item to. Where a stopped item can be moved to another day inside your stay we move it. Where it cannot, your quote states in writing, before payment, what your order does in that case. No order is taken without that in writing.
• The evening lighting program — it runs on the evening of day three when the program is operating on your confirmed date. It is not a promised item on this plan and it is not priced into your quote; where it is not operating that evening it is dropped and the price does not change.
• The glass sections — neither the glass section of the Tianmen Mountain cliff walkway nor the optional canyon glass bridge is written as a must-do item. A solid path runs beside each of them. A guest who takes the solid path loses no listed item from the day and pays the same price.
• Hands-on weaving — the brocade workshop visit is in the base price. Hands-on weaving is not, because we cannot promise the workshop will be open to it on your date. Where it is not, the item runs as a visit only and the price does not change.
• Wild macaques on the Golden Whip Stream — wild macaques live along that walking section and take food from guests. Your guide walks you through it before you set off, and food is carried out of sight.
• Four evenings, none of them programmed — apart from the day-three lighting program, which is not promised, this plan carries no committed evening content. Dinners are recommended and booked by your guide, on your account. We would rather say that than list an evening we cannot confirm.
• Two hillside days are never merged — Tianmen Mountain runs a full day and never shares a day with Yuanjiajie. Any request to compress this plan below five days is quoted as a different plan.
• Confirmation and changes — the confirmation-time commitment and the change and refund terms are being finalized with our ground partners. Until they are settled, each quote states in writing its own confirmation deadline and its change and refund conditions. One structural fact helps here: this plan holds no flight leg and no rail leg of its own, so a date change touches hotels, tickets and the operating schedules of the lifts only. Your connection leg sits outside this plan and follows the terms of whoever issued it.
